The Gauchos were a musical group that performed on KJR.  Here they are in Studio B, about 1931-32.  Two microphones are suspended from the ceiling, and the studio operator can be seen in the background.   Some of KJR musical programs employed a musician in the control room who followed the musical score and told the operator when to adjust the volume for a consistent audio level.
