KRE - Art Westlund and Don Hambly

Westlund (left) and Don Hambly (right) were the principal hands on the
KRE rudder for nearly 30 years. Westlund managed Chapel of the Chimes
mausoleum, an early KRE advertiser. He leased KRE from the
First Congregational Church in 1930, then acquired it outright in 1936
and was its owner and manager until 1963. Hambly was the
station's commercial and program manager for most of those same
